Overview
Architected and developed a full-stack, enterprise-grade Learning Management System (LMS) from scratch for a leading breathwork platform. The system handles high-traffic video delivery, secure payment processing, complex user role management, and seamless single sign-on (SSO) integration with the client’s existing mobile application.
The Challenge
The client required a custom LMS that seamlessly bridged their existing app ecosystem (facilitator accounts) with a brand-new web-based student portal. The platform needed to securely deliver premium video content, manage tiered access (students, instructors, admins), process payments, and maintain a strict state-of-the-art referral system, all while ensuring zero disruption to their existing mobile app users.
The Solution
I built a robust, scalable application using Laravel 13, PostgreSQL, and Tailwind CSS, focusing heavily on secure API integrations and clean, scalable architecture.
Key Technical Achievements:
Hybrid Authentication & SSO: Engineered a dual-flow authentication system that checks local database credentials first, then seamlessly falls back to the client’s external API (Erhan’s API) for Single Sign-On. Built a secure “Shadow User” sync system to maintain local sessions while the external API remained the source of truth.
Secure Video Delivery & Anti-Skip: Integrated Bunny Stream using signed, time-limited embed URLs to prevent video piracy. Built a custom video player tracking heartbeat data every 15 seconds to enforce an aggressive 90% completion gate before unlocking the next lesson, including an anti-skip guard that prevents scrubbing ahead.
Threaded Q&A System: Engineered a custom, fully threaded Q&A architecture. Built a dedicated Admin moderation panel for instructors to reply and admins to delete posts, while implementing XSS-protected, mobile-responsive UI for students within the video player.
Stripe Payments & Webhooks: Implemented a complete e-commerce checkout flow using Stripe Checkout. Built a highly secure, idempotent Webhook controller to handle payment success, failures, and automatic refunds (revoking course access instantly).
Automated Notifications: Built a centralized NotificationService and EmailService bridging Laravel Notifications with Resend, handling complex triggers like payment receipts, course enrollments, certificate generation, and Q&A replies.
Advanced Progress Tracking: Developed server-side transcript synchronization using WebVTT parsing, tying the text directly to the video player via Player.js, with auto-scroll logic that pauses when the user manually scrolls.
